CENTRAL EAST: For the past three years, the Central East ATTC has contracted with the District of Columbia Department of Mental Health to support the training efforts of the D.C. Co-Occurring State Incentive Grant (COSIG) program, funded by SAMHSA. In that time over 120 providers of addiction and mental health treatment in the District have graduated from the 72 hour training program. In June Central East ATTC, in partnership with the DC COSIG Program, will publish an 18-module curriculum on Co-Occurring Disorders that was developed collaboratively. The authors are Lynn Smith, the DC COSIG Director of Training, and Frances Lorenzi, Central East's Director of Special Projects. Most of the material is public domain and the curriculum will be made available online on the ATTC, Danya and DC Mental Health websites. For more information, contact Tom Durham at 240.645.1141. |

| Leadership Institute | |
CENTRAL EAST: Central East ATTC conducted its 6th Leadership Institute immersion training March 15 – 20th in St. Michaels MD. Leadership Institute was conducted slightly different this year, in that we provided the mentors with the opportunity to take the TKI and MBTI assessments. There was protégé participation from Maryland, New Jersey and the District of Columbia. |

CENTRAL EAST: Central East ATTC is assisting Great Lakes ATTC in coordinating the Recovery Support Services Leadership Institute. The group has been broken into 4 teams, and Tiffany Kilpatrick and Ryan Springer are advisors to two teams each. |

MID-AMERICA: Mid-America ATTC’s 2009 PFR/ATTC Leadership Institute Immersion Training was held March 30 – April 3, 2009 in Kansas City, MO. Twelve protégés and mentors were recruited from the 5-state region. As a result of discussion on the LI Coordinator conference calls, recruitment focused more on protégés with more supervisory experience this year. read full discription |

NEW ENGLAND: The ATTC of New England is offering an online course entitled Introduction to Problem and Pathological Gambling: Knowledge and Education.This workshop will offer an introduction to gambling and how it has become a serious problem in our society. CENTRAL EAST: Central East is hosting a series of Addiction Severity Index (ASI) and Treatment MATRS trainings in the District of Columbia, at the Addiction Prevention & Recovery Administration. The first ASI training was on April 2nd & 3rd to be followed with Treatment MATRS training on April 8-9, 2009. Both trainings will be repeated on April 23rd & 24th and April 30th & May 1st 2009 respectively. |

PACIFIC SOUTHWEST: Arizona State University’s Center for Applied Behavioral Health Policy is presenting an introductory workshop titled: Introduction to Community Reinforcement Family Training (CRAFT) on Friday, April 24, 2009. The location is the Cliff Castle Lodge in Camp Verde, AZ. The CRAFT model was highlighted in the acclaimed HBO series “Addiction”. CENTRAL EAST: On March 27th, Central East ATTC provided an Ethics and Cultural Competency training in Silver Spring MD. This presented by co-trainers who were able to condensed a 3 1/2 day module into one day training. The training was well received by the attendees. |
